We arrived into Wanaka early afternoon. We headed straight to Puzzling World as someone told us it was good fun for an afternoon. It was apart from the Maze, I got bored and just wanted to get out, I think we were stuck in there for at least an hour. After puzzling world we seeked out a nice campsite, we wanted a nice shower, toilets and power to recharge our belongings. We found one and it had free wifi, spa and sauna, awesome. We hit the spa asap. The following day we decided to go on a walk, ideally I wanted to do the Rob Roy Valley Walk but realised it was an hour away from Wanaka and opted for something nearer in the area. We opted for the Roy's Peak Track and climbed up Mount Roy. OMG it was a hellish climb, very steep and was 5,250 feet to the top. It took us 5 hours to complete top to bottom, and shattered us. The views were amazing from the summit, you could see the whole of Lake Wanaka and incredible view of Mount Cook, in the distance. It was worth the hellish climb, although it was the decent that caused most of the aches and pains. By the time we got to the bottom it was too late in the day to attempt the Cardrona drive to Queenstown, so we decided to stay at the same campsite as last night, but without power to save some pennies. Thank god we did as we hit the spa and sauna straight away to take away the aches from our tired legs. We will hopefully set off for Queenstown in the morning instead. Unless we do a skydive which I am very tempted to do.
