The last 2 days have been play days. We've gone to the beach both days. The first day we went to Clearwater Beach. This is the Gulf of Mexico side of Florida. The water was wonderfully warm. It was not what I expected.
The second day, today, we went to Honeymoon Island, also in Clearwater, Florida. This beach allowed pets and it was obvious Sierra wanted to do some swimming too. When she did get out there, she started swimming as you would expect. But for some reason when she was done, she just barrel rolled on to her back and started back floating. Well, kind of back floating, it was more of a surrendering. It was a clear sign that she was done. I've never seen a dog do that and I wish I would have gotten a picture of these four stubby legs sticking out of the water. It was humorous. The second time she started swimming, she did it again. I know some breeds are bred for water and love swimming. I'm guessing the Welsh Corgi is not counted among those breeds.
We've gotten laundry done and everything ready to travel on to Orlando tomorrow. Angela is doing really well with adapting to this routine inside the RV. Maybe a little better than me. I'm still hurting myself on various things designed for people smaller than me. But still, good times. It's my vacation and I will enjoy it, even while I'm limping.
While at Aunt Rose's house today, I watched Angela's compassion come out voluntarily. It happens from time to time, she's just naturally a sweet, sweet girl. My parents took Aunt Rose, who turned 85 today, to the store. When they came back, they helped with the big things then sat down. Aunt Rose started fiddling with the little things. Angela just started following her around and doing things for her. Even opening doors on her own to put stuff away, not knowing if it was the right place or not. Good girl.
I also noticed something being here at my Aunt's. Even at 85, she still has some wit and funniness to her. I'm not saying I've independently developed my own sense of humor, it's just nice to see genetics in operation going down from generation to generation. Oh yeah, Angela is going to be just fine. It's good to see my family character traits flashing in Angela from time to time.
One other side note, this is a reminder for those trying to contact Angela or me via my cell. I do not always have the signal strength to use my phone effectively so please be patient. I will return phone calls as soon as conveniently possible. Thank you for your understanding.
