Jan 5th

My last day in Sydney!! Feels so strange to be leaving after being here for 6 weeks, what have I been doing all this time, and im not bored either?? Will have to read back through my journal! As much as I love Sydney I am so excited about leaving tomoro, after being in Melbourne and then here its gunna be great to get away from cities for a while!

Last nite a group of us clubbed in and made a vegetable curry mmmm, well done tash and teresa! We set up a proper table and chairs too, the last supper! Then we headed out on the free drinks nite and of course stayed out much later than intended!

The last couple of days have been really hot and sunny so have been down to darling harbour relaxing in front of big screen, visited the chinese gardens, yesterday was bondi beach day for the last time and then today Ive been down at circular quay saying goodbye to the bridge and opera house (sorry but had to take final pics!) There was some sort of cricket event down at circular quay today with a famous old oz cricketer, took some pics but me and Shane had no idea at all who he was!! So now getting ready for farewell meal with Stef then off to bed early. Need to pack first though, tried and failed to get everything back in my rucksack, Katie i need you!!

Tomoro i leave at 6.30am on the Oz Experience bus to make the next part of my trip, a 3 day journey up to Byron Bay stopping at Barrington and Surf Camp too. Been reading through the brochure today so I know what to expect and its looking good! I must have got a little braver since ive been in sydney cos im not scared at all this time, just so excited! The bad part is having to leave friends and people i've got close to here though. So many have been here the whole time i have and have shared these amazing experiences with me. Hopefully we'll keep in touch and maybe bump into each other along our travels, hate these goodbyes though but guess I have to get used to them! And now have to meet new people all over again! Best experiences here have been New Years (obviously!), Harbour Bridge Climb, Xmas Eve, Ice Bar and everything else as well i suppose! Ive had lows here too, the homesickness was bad at times, especially just before xmas but think its passed now!

I've booked the next part of my trip too (subject to change if i want!) so you know where I'm off and when.....

6th Jan - Sydney to Barrington

7th Jan - Barrington to Surf Camp

8th Jan - Surf Camp to Byron Bay

15th Jan - Byron Bay to Surfers Paradise

18th Jan - Surfers Paradise to Brisbane

Then onwards and upwards! So follow oz travellers if ur in any of these places at those times just let me know!
