Dec 7th - Heres what Ive been up to (and where Ive been up to!) the last couple of days
Dec 5th - Hey so I did the bridge climb and had the climb of my life!! The pics Ive put on here from the actual climb dont look they great cos I kinda had to take a pic of a pic if u know what I mean!! Before we did the actual bridge climb we climbed the 200 step Pylon which is the tower at one end of the bridge. The views were great as u can see from my pics and u were allowed a camera to take ur own! Then we prepared for our bridge climb! There were 9 of us in our group which was cool. They run the trips every 10 minutes so u can imagin how many people go up each day!! First of all we had our breath tests and I was ok! Then we had to be suited in our lovely shell suits, look great dont we!! You werent allowed to wear any jewellery, watches, earrings, necklaces etc. I even had to take my my hair clip out!! Its cos theres traffic running beneath the bridge so if anything falls from that height it could do some damage! They've pretty much got eveything covered, everything they provided us with had special clips on so everything was attached to us, even my hair scrunchie! We also had hankies, a cap and a fleece. On our rather large and heavy belts we also had a radio and were given a headset cos the guides talk to you as you go up and give u all the interesting facts that u just have to know, like the fact that the Opera House has 1000 rooms, no way!? I was careful climbing up, was a mixture of steep steps, walkways and not so steep steps! The views at the top were amazing and it was one of those times where even thoigh ur actually there and doing it it just didnt seem real if u know what I mean!! Those of u know that know me well know that I hate going down stairs cos I start to feel all unbalanced so was a bit nervy going back down, wanted to just stay up there! But I made it and we all got certificates for doing the climb! You get one free pic of the whole group then u can buy one of the many pics they take at various points on the way up / down. I bought one at the top and one going back down (No-one is allowed to take own cameras up there) so had to take pics of my pics to put on this journal. The actual pics themselves and my certificate are currently being flown back to UK so if ur nice to my mum she'll let u see them! Figured it was better to send them home than keep them in my rucksack! After the climb our legs were like jelly, really hard to walk! We came out of teh building and were walking along back down to the rocks when I thought 'I don't believe IT!!!' There was DEC AGAIN!! I sort of fumbled for camera, he was just standing outside a building with 2 girls, we carried on walking then I thought nah, gotta get a pic so turned around and ANT & DEC were walking towards me, thats twice Ive seen them in 2 days (maybe its them following me, if they want a pic all they had to so was ask!!) I asked for a pic and they were really nice, I chatted to them bout my climb then let them go! Wonder how many other celebs i'll spot in Oz! Then after such a great day we treated ourselves to a nice meal down at the rocks where we hada great view of the bridge we just climbed!
Dec 6th - Today me, Penny and Marie (Sweedish roomate) did the Bondi to Coogee walk that we've heard so much about! Its about 1.5hrs and takes u around the coastline the whole way so u get to see all the coastal towns, secluded beaches and great views! The trek was harder than I thought, my little calves were strugglin! The pics I took at various stages I cant remember what beach was where, sorry!! At the end we got to Coogee which has the most amazing beach, we had lunch as the sun beamed down on us then just sunbathed after all our hard work, even dozed off at one point I think! At night a group of us headed to The Gaff where u get free meals if u buy a drink, how cool is that and the meals are massive too! Then of to O'Malleys for our free drinks, the hostels always have vouchers for free stuff at places! There was a live band on in there so stayed till the early hours then crashed and had a nice lie in!
Dec 7th - Had good lie in then headed to post office to send my pics home (should get there nxt wk) Then headed here to update journal! Today is Penny's last day, she's flying home tonight so am meeting her later for final farewell meal! Going to be weird without her here cos Ive seen her everyday dau just about since Ive been in Sydney, still I think I'll be ok with the beaches to keep me company!! So not much planned today, chilling out, sun is shining and I have nothing to do, such a hard life!
Take Care all
