Well an exciting day today. After a night of heavy rain, this morning was dry but cold and very windy. By the time we got to Purple Heaven Palace about 8am the sun was trying to break through the clouds. By 10am it was already too hot for the layers we all had on.
We started with a photo shoot followed by Qigong and meditation with the Daoist Master at the temple. It was a great session and after this we had free time. It was lovely to soak up the atmosphere without rushing round to see everything as this was one of the places we visited last time. Some of us bought winter tai chi shoes which are very soft, comfy and warm. Sue and I did some Tai Chi in them to try them out. Roll on winter at Festival Gardens - just kidding!
Once we had finished there we went back to the hotel to find there was no electricity. Fortunately lunch was unaffected.
After lunch we headed for Carefree Valley. A place we also visited on the last trip. The weather was scourging by now and everyone was in more appropriate gear. We had a walk round where we had been before then we were taken to another part of the valley. Lots of blossom and butterflies to admire on the way. The whole thing was gorgeous. We ended the afternoon there watching an amazing Kungfu show and we had VIP tickets so we were sat at the front.
After that we got back on the buses and headed for the South Cliff to view another temple. There was a fair amount of walking and of course plenty of steps.
The electricity still wasn't on when we arrived for dinner but thankfully all is resolved now and we can now all charge our phones etc!
Tomorrow is Golden Summit day and according to some there is s chance of snow. Very bizarre considering today's weather. Anyway tomorrow's blog will reveal all.
