10/5 - So we left lake mathison to head to lake wanaka, and on the way we stopped at lake hawea! Lake Hawea was another picturesque crystal blue lake reflecting the mountains that provided its stunning backdrop, no matter how many of these lakes you see they never stop being impressive! We just stopped here to take a few photos before heading off to the town of Wanaka. Wanaka is a really nice little town on the lake, nice and quiet in the day but also has a fairly vibrant nightlife. We arrived in the afternoon, so didnt have time to do much, the hostel we stayed in was really a hotel so it was really nice, our rooms had en-suites with baths in, and a TV in every room! We went for a bit of a wander when we arrived and then I set off to climb Mt.Iron, It was only about 45mins walk so not much of a mountain! But the views over Wanaka and the lake were amazing, and I got to watch the sunset behind the snow capped mountains that surrounded the town, which was nice :)
11/5 - We left Wanaka this morning to head to Queenstown. First we stopped for the morning in puzzling world still in Wanaka. Puzzling world is this place with lots of puzzles, basically :p It has what is apparently the worlds first or only 3D maze or something!? It was quite a fun, and slightly infuriating, little maze, which took us about an hour to complete. Also in puzzling world there are these illusion rooms, which were awesome! really cool, and really freaky!! I think there were four of them, and they generally had optical illusions in. One of them was a round room with heads on all sides of you that followed as you walked, very creepy. Another one was this room that felt like it was at a tilt, it was really hard to walk and made everyone look kind of drunk :P in this room there were lots of little displays where they had things appearing to defy gravity by rolling opr flowing against the slope. Its really hard to explain, and was very weird, I will hopefully be able to explain it a bit better next time I see you all! Also in the cafe, there were loads of little logic puzzles on the tables for you to do, I couldn't do any of them! We then left puzzling world and headed to queenstown!! on the way to Queenstown we stopped at Kawaru bridge, which is where the first ever commercial bungy took place, back in 1988. We had a little history of bungy tour then watched the two people from our bus who had decided they wanted to jump that day! It was after watching these jumps that one of my friends, Zoe, said "I'll do it if you will", an offer that I unfortunatley could not refuse!! So we went and booked ourselves in to jump in an couple of days!!
