So up at 0730 and set off at 0900 for the journey down to Wanaka, rain has stopped so we set off, pass Fox Glacier and continue down, ah the sun finally appears and we pass through some beautiful mountains and lakes with waterfalls and ice caps and pass Lake Hawea with it's blue water, then arrive in blistering heat to Wanaka at 1330, Lake Wanaka looks amazing with far reaching views of the mountains in the distance, people swimming in the lake, so inviting! We meet up with Bens friend Dee and Dees boyfriend, Toby, have a couple of beers then they lead us to their house and a lovely old Leyland bus kitted out as living accommodation. Then the rain starts again just after we arrive. So we have dinner and a few beers. Next day, chill out, I take a trip to Wanaka, do the laundry and a quick shop then a few beers with Dee and Toby and play games with Ika their dog, our new friend! Then light the log fire again (awesome fire) and heat up the bus for a warm night sleep.
