Leaving the train at 7 was too early for my liking but the bus to Sapa was a good chance for sleep. We arrived at the Cat Cat hotel to a free breakfast before hitting the sack for the rest of the morning! That afternoon we went to a so called village to meet the locals but all they were interested in was trying to sell us things! The hike back up the hill was knackering but I still decidede to go and explore the town! The weather was wet and miserable so after another wander I headed back met the others for food and went to bed.
We left at 9.30 on the 14th for a supposed 6 hour walk. From the village we were followed by 3 giggling girls who made us faces out of plants only to find out 3 hours later all they wanted to do was sell us something. We stopped for lunch and soon after we had finished our hike which was a little disappointing because I was geared up for more than 12 km. The drive back up the mountainwas scary as the fog was so bad we couldnt see 2 metres in front of the jeep!! Later that evening we played some pool in a local bar, one of the locals was amazing.... buit I almost beat him (Harry watch out!)
Walking up Dragons Jaw mountain in the mist was a fun way to end our stay in Sapa and also a good way to build up an appetite because there were so many steps, walking through the market before hand and seeing a dogs head for sale didnt help though! We headed down the 171 steps from our rooms to the reception for the last time that evening to drive to Lao Cai to catch the overnight train to Hanoi
