The start of the day was all a bit of a blur after we were woken up at 5 am on the night train to be told we were arriving in 5 minutes, at least we had time for some more sleep when we checked into the hotel..or so we thought! Almost as soon as getting into our room one of the windows fell out and smashed, fortunately, (after some persuasion) the hotel manager believed our vivid descriptions of how it honestly wasn't our fault.
Happily the rest of the day promised to be much more relaxing as we set sail on a boat trip from this seaside town to explore the nearby islands. Firstly we docked in a little fishing island just offshore to see how the locals live. From what we could gather, the men fish all day and Karaoke all night, leaving their wives to do everything else! To get back to our boat we took another brilliant new form of transport - the basket boat - exactly like the picture above! We then sailed around to a pretty little cove where we stopped for a couple of hours to snorkel, jump off the roof of the boat and enjoy a great lunch with loads of fresh seafood. Full to bursting, we finally moored at an almost deserted beach for some sunbathing and beach volleyball, great stuff!
