Our final day with our group, and we were determined to go out with a bang! We woke up early on Cat Ba and hired bikes to ride (the very steep road) to the beach, which was practically deserted and located in a beautiful bay framed by steep cliffs all around. To get back to Hanoi for our last night we took another new mode of transport - speedy hydrofoil - across the bay then bussed back to our hotel. After a speedy pack for our early departure to the airport the next day and requesting a 5am wake up call from reception, we went for our final group meal at the Hanoi outpost of the 'cooking station' restaurant from Ho Chi Minh city. Andy and Joel devoured a great seafood hotpot recommended for 4 people (the waiter laughed when we ordered - we showed him!), before we all hit the town. A couple of bars and tequila shots later we arrived at 'Solace', Hanoi's floating nightclub to dance and drink the night away until 4 am..oh dear, when we got to bed we realized we had to wake up half an hour later…
