To escape the hot and frenzied streets of HCMC we decided to head to the city's big outdoor water park for few hours. The park wasn't really aimed at tourists however, so we really stuck out amongst the crowds and had to sit in the special 'sun bathing area for foreigners'! All of the water slides were great fun, especially the really fast, pitch black tube we shot down in a double rubber ring. We both screamed in a mixture of fun and fright!! After that we felt like something more sedate so opted for the ride you simply float along a 'river' with gentle currents in a ring. Unfortunately we got on right behind a group of friendly but mischevous local teenagers who insisted on having fierce water fights every two minutes. We had no choice but to join in and we gave as good as we got! Andy's accidentally spectacular dismount from the flying fox also met with local approval!
In the evening we met our new tour leader Nhu Y (or 'e') and went for a meal to a hugely popular local restaurant where dozens of different cooking stations (each specializing in one type of dish) form a square around the diners and cook the food in front of you!
