After our fairly western hotel and breakfast, the streets of Bangkok were a real culture shock. We spent the morning navigating the Thai traffic (Pedestrian crossings are rare!) street stalls and tuk tuks. We visited the Royal Palace,but were unable to go in as there had been the death of a Thai Royal family member, the streets were packed full of mourners and the press.

In the evening we met the other 14 members of our group at the hotel, after a welcome meeting we all decided to get more aquainted by heading out to the backpacker bars!In the early hours of the morning and after far too much Chang we headed back to the hotel, oblivious to our twelve hour bus and 6.40am start the next day!
