G'day maaaaaates...yes, I genuinelly am cheesy enough to use that phrase...and you doubted me?
Before I begin...Happy Fathers Day, to Dad for this Sunday...and Happy Mothers Day to Mum (as it's Mothers Day in Oz today).
Righto...where to begin. Well, firstly, me and Harry flew in the coolest plane ever! You could ring other seats from your own....I KNOW!!! How cool is that.
The first day, due to the fact that we were absolutely shattered we tracked down a hostel from the airport and spent the day just wandering arund, which was cool, because we saw The Opera House...the shining gem which is Australia! Just so cool, having said that, still dion't really think it has hit me that I'm in Australia. We also went to some Modern Art Gallery on our first day which was...um...interesting, as is all modern art, but a cool thing to say we've done. In the evening we fell asleep around 6:30...so a nice early night, to say the least!
Yesterday absolutely TIPPED it down with raaaaaaaain. So. Much. Rain...but we just sorted out general stuff for the rest of the trip, which has worked out quite nicely, as now we've got the 3 things booked I really wantd to do (Fraser Island, The Whitsuday Islands and The Blue Montains- which we did today)...and we got some really good deals through a really cool STA lady.
Tomorrow, is our last day in Sydney...hopefully...if STA hurry up and SORT out our bus tickets, which Harry still doesn't have and need to leave...when we will be off to Byron Bay. Tomorrow, I think we'll also go and see some of the Government buildings, as well as Darling Harbour which apparrently is a MUST DO...so should be cool. We may also do a museum, as we'll probably be getting the 9pm bus, so will have a FULLLLL day, which'll be good and then on to meet some of the other people touring round Oz on the Greyhound Bus.
Okay, so today...it must be said was pretty darn amazing. I've remembered for a whole year that The Blue Mountains was the favourite thing one of my friends did on their gao year and so was DETERMINED I would do it and drag Harry along with me...and it really was incredible! I've been so luck so far with some of the sights I've seen- Uganda had Murchinson Falls, Vietnam had the Halong Bay sunsets and now I have the Australian Blue Mountains...so called because of the colour of the Eucalyptus trees (NO ide if that's spelt correctly) but we were SO lucky...lovely day...FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZING but lovely and clear, which is lucy becuase it's apparently going to be the only day like it for at least a few days.
Also, we saw genuine Australian Kangaroos there...EPIC...and we had even more luck, due to the fact that the tour guide said he hadn't seen any in 3 weeks! AWESOME.
The photo is one of the mountains...google them, they really are amazing! I was in the middle of uploading my photos when my camera ran out of battery! BUMMER...so will upload sooooooon :)
Um...not really much else to report thus far....I can completely understand why 1/3 of SDydney's population come from overseas, as me and Harry are alreay considering moving here! But definitely excited to get on the road :)
Coolio. Well all, going to have to love you and leave you.
Take care... Talk soon
Oh...rest of my Vietnam photos are up (and the Uganda ones, which for some reason never uploaded before).
BYE :)
