Two Breakfasts, Two lunches and one dinner in one day.
I have been up since 3am New Zealand time to travel to Sydney at 6.40am. After saying farewell to my parents at the airport and proceeded through customs, the plane was slightly delayed due to some maintenance fault. The plane managed to leave alright and got to Sydney on schedule. The only eventful thing about the journey was that the flight attendents were very nice.
After arriving in Sydney and killing time browsing at the shops, it was time to board and travel to Canada. Currently the trip to Vancouver has been my longest time on a plane coming in at 14 hours. My second longest trip was to Japan back in 2001 and that was around 11 hours. The flight attendents weren't as nice as the Air New Zealand ones though. Proceeded through customs and immigration with relative ease.
After dropping off my lugguge at the hostel, I started to explore the city. Vancouver is a easy city to get round by foot. After countless consultations with the map, I manage to locate Chinatown which is huge. It is the thrid largest Chinatown in North America after New York and San Fransico respectively. It is the closest I will get to an authentic Chinatown without actually visitng China. The sights and sounds are overwelming. If I didn't have black hair and brown eyes, I would have stuck out like a sore thumb. Most of the stores' signs are written in Chinese so it is hard to know what they are selling.
