The story continues!!
So, leaving off from part 1 of my 'teaching journey', after a bright and early hungover morning, we had our first day of 'learn how to teach' school!! It was strange in the beginning, playing extremely embarrassing games, having over 80 pairs of eyes from people that you have never met, looking at you doing a dance that you have no idea where you got it from... but after the first morning, and by the time of the afternoon it was actually kind of fun! Managed to meet nearly all the people attending the course over the 4 day orientation, so many different personalities and people from around the world (mainly UK, but a few americans, aussies and canadians). As i was one of the only guys, and especially the only Aussie guy, i naturally wore a singlet and boardies every day (it was hot, what else do you wear?), but i was the only guy that ever wore a singlet... so i kind of stuck out like a sore thumb (ha-ha no 'thumm' jokes) and had a lot of banter against me especially from one of the guys teaching all of us how to teach-i always got him back tho, he was english so wasnt hard :P After each day only had about 1 hour to get ready before heading out to booked dinner locations with the entire group. The first dinner was probably one of the more scaring memories of the trip so far... I was called up along with another guy to do the best 'man vs bear fight' impersonation... Yea i took it to seriously haha, but i won free gelato so i guess it was worth it!
So throughout these four days, i thought it would have been a good opportunity to try to meet somebody to travel around Europe with, and out of all the people i would have liked to travel with only a few are staying around Europe for a while, so i'll have to see if ill be flying solo after these english camps! Hopefully not but we will see!
The last night of the course.... never expected any of the things to have happened that happened on that night!!! If you have seen some of my photos, the first photos show a nice happy andreas dancing around with everyone, and then the last photos show a nice happy andreas passed out on the floor with pen all over his body... and when i say all over my body i mean all over... crazy girls and their mascara (i think it was mascara i dont know, but i had to use a whole pack of nail polish remover to get everything off). But basically, the night started off with 7$ bottles of wine, and then free wine, and shots-shots-shots! Next thing you know, ur watching your teachers lap dance (we got them back from making us do embarrassing things all week) and walking the streets in a zig-zag. Ended up at the possible travelling girls hotel, had a nice nap there, then walked back to my hotel where i found more of the girls, had a nice nap on the street with them, and then finallyyy found some more girls, but this time in a room, so had a nice nap on the floor where they took advantage of the situation! No not in a suss way, jeez im keeping these blogs PG-rated! So again, the better stories will be told over drinks when i get back!
So any way, after a messy night, said my goodbyes to all my orientation friends and off to Fara for my first english camp!!! Its a beautiful town, full of rice/sugar/corn fields, very quiet and small so its really relaxing! My host family is amazing!! Home made meals here are soooo good, iv never eaten food like this before its amazing! So its already the 5th day of school, the kids are amazing!! First day they were very shy, but after a while, and with some help from mini-koala's that i gave them all they are really fun kids! Quite anoying at times when they dont listen, but normally in the mornings they are very easy to work with, and its awesome to have the power over people... like "get me some paper, then jump around like a kangaroo for 10 minutes"... literally they will do it if they get a prize its crazy! Also had one day at the pool and just had a water balloon fight, it was alot of fun but the kids dont listen much if theres water involved!! Iv been to an amazing lake with my host brother, he is a really cool guy we get along well. Its an amazinggg lake, you can see some photos of it, heading back there tomorrow night after we finish the kids "big show", to have a massivveee night!!! Shall be soo good to sleep in on saturday, not looking forward to the headache tho. Also my host brother and I go to a local canal every now and then after school to swim and chillouttttt. Its really cool to jump in and let the water just drag you down... though if u miss the ladder your screweddd! But after a stressfull day 'at the office' its nice to relax.
Any way, 1 Week down from english camp! Im off for the weekend so speak to you all in Week 2!
To be Continued!!!
