Just going to put it out there; Amsterdam is on a whole new level!! I really want to start talking about amsterdam, but i better finish off Italy first, sorry guys, promise it wont take long ;)
So, Florence was nice, ended up spending two nights/one day.. wasnt very long, but probably didnt really need the extra day (would have gone to Pisa for the 2nd day but didnt have time). Shopping was good- big brands down every street, besides the statue of david i dont think we really saw much... So basically Florence was a very 'ehhhh lets not do much' city. Oh but!! at our hotel there was a help your self coffee/hot chocolate machine.. so we abused that, ended up making the perfect blend - 2 coffees and one hot choclate, mmm.
So waking up at 6am, basically hugging the coffee machine, we were off to Venice for 3 days! Was really nice, took a while to find our hotel (the street name we were given didnt exist anymore..), but was a pretty nice place, in the actual center of all the bars (so happy). We spent each day walking around, shopping, eating too much icecream and eating the biggest pizzas ever. These pizzas were sliced in 6, and each peice is nearly double the size of your head - crazy? or just some extremely hungry euro-travellers! Nights were entertaining, met up with my old italian friends on both nights, went to the bars around our hotel and just met tonsss of people! Met norwegians, some local italians that lived in venice, more aussies (ofcourse), americans, canadians, and im sure there were more. Oh and pike met an irish guy... and by met, i mean his fist met his chin, and by irish guy, i mean irish guy. Good effort? or Mauy tai skillz? This guy randomly came up and took pikes hat, so obviously pike and I ran after him and caught him. This guy comes back and starts chatting to the norwegian girls pike and I were chatting to, then gets aggressive with all of us and for some reason kind of hit one of the girls-which then Pike flipped and yea, BOOM Irish guy on the ground. After all that found a club in Venice!!! at 3:30, but closed at 4 so didnt see the point in that. Was a very entertaining night though, and a fun last-night with Pike. Next day Pike sadly left us on his own journey to Lebanon, good luck buddy!! My group of travellers is slowly getting smaller :(
So finally, we arrive in Amsterdam. It was nutsss, we 'only' ate kebabs, so cheap and sooo much meat (finally something different then bread), the waffles were amazinggg - for every1 that knows me you would know id be in heaven, the people speak funny, the red light district was notttt what i expected (so much better).. it surpised me to say the least. And it was weird to see coffee shops down every street, took a while to get use to. During the days (after sleeping in till 1), we'd just walk around, shop, get completely lost as per-usual and just get a taxi back to square 1 and start again, went to the heineken factory which was fun, so much free beer. But after the short days, we'd head out to some bars, didnt really meet to many people in amsterdam, but we did meet up with the girls who were our neighbours in Ibiza. They showed us some cool areas to hang out one night, pretty chilled night as it was during the week, so not to many people are heading out for a massive night. Went to the Red light district every night, was a new experience each time. There was a mixture of weird people, funny door-men, creeps, and many, many, many unbelievably beautiful women inside windows... strange, but so acceptable. There are sooo many stories from Amsterdam night-time, but this would be a novel if i put them in, sooo if you want to know the nitty-gritty of the Amsterdam stories, just ask me ;)
And now, back in london. Heading out to a musical tonight to see Wikid (wizard of oz?), we bought probabaly the last tickets for tonight... we think they we are in the back corner.. (seat number is z1, z2, z3...) but still should be a good experience. Pike isnt with us any more so we wont be getting into any fights, so until next time,
Much luv,
Andreas.
