Hello!
Dinner last night was amazing. We went and ate at Le Bosquet (thanks Stacey H!), which was an amazing little French Restaurant in downtown Crested Butte. The atmosphere reminded me a lot of a restaurant we used to go to when we were younger called Tante Louise. Grammy and Grandpy, you would have loved it! Joey and I each got french onion soup to start, which we agreed was some of the best we have had. For dinner, I had a hazlenut chicken and Joey had the biggest steak I have ever seen.. EVER. haha. It was delicious! Wonderful service, wonderful food. We don't know if we can pick a favorite restaurant yet.
We slept in a little bit this morning and got on the mountain at about 10:30. It was a REALLY warm day, and we both have sunburned faces already! We spent the day checking out the other side of the mountain... Joey did a couple of runs through the terrain park and the JIB park, and we sort of played around on some easier runs all day. Our good friends Jim and Evette bought us a sleigh ride dinner to Uley's Cabin mid-mountain, but they were all booked up for the rest of the week. So, we decided to stop at the restaurant today for a nice fancy lunch instead :-)
This was a really cool place halfway down the mountain that you cannot get to unless you ski to it, or you get pulled up to it by a snowcat. There is a bar outside of the restaurant that is made of ice. It's pretty neat... cup holders and all.. all ice! :) The restaurant itself was VERY fancy.. it was a fun experience! It's not something we would normally do.. so we went all out. My iced tea came served in a wine glass... and I had this amazing dish that was nothing but spaghetti squash.. but it was amazing. Joey had lobster risotto... all in the middle of our day of snowboarding. So fun!
We did a couple of more runs after lunch and called it a day. After changing, we decided to head down to town and walk around some of the shops.
I can't express how different Crested Butte is. The town reminds me of the town straight out of the movie "out cold." Everything belongs to the locals. The people are laid back.. the buildings are modest and old.. we LOVE it. Mountains surround you on all sides, and you are totally buried in this little mountain town that is just... real. I took a few pictures of some of the cute buildings in town. It's honestly one of the greatest places we have been to. Meets our style completely..
For dinner, we headed over to the Elevation hotel next door and ate at 9380 prime. It was a nice restaurant in the hotel that had this Asian influence to it. Super modern decor, good food... nice prices. It was nice :)
We spent some time after dinner checking out the lobby of the hotel and sitting by the fire. It was a great day three :-) Tomorrow is our last day to ride the mountain.. :-( Thats okay... after tomorrow we have a whole new adventure coming up!
Hope you all are doing well at home! We are having the most wonderful time.
See you via blog tomorrow!
xo!
