Hey all!
This week I visited the bay of islands which is north of Auckland. Its a lovely chilled out place and nice to spend probably my last time by the beach in the sunshine. I went on a tour to swim with dolphins but unfortunately they had babies with them so we werent allowed. however it was gorgeous to watch them, there were so many and they just loved playing around the boat and jumping for us. I layed over the front of the boat and could see them playing underneath, that was pretty amazing. I was lucky as it was a beautiful day so it looked like paradise!
Another day I went on a boat called the excitor to vist the 'hole in the rock' at the end of the islands. to be honest it wasnt as exciting as i expected it but nevermind. On Friday I took a day tour to Capre reinga, this is the furthest north point in New Zealand where you can see the two oceans meet, the pacific ocean and the tasman sea. This was breathtaking! You can actually see where they meet, truly a beautiful sight! Included in the day we drove down ninety mile beach, saw some kauri trees (they are the largest in the world) and also had a go at sand boarding down the largest sand dunes on the island. That was so much fun!
Today has been by best day in New Zealand though, I went diving at the poor knights islands. It was unbelievable! very different to the great barrier reef and definately allot colder but i loved it! definately going to do my PADI course, im hooked!!! I took a underwater camera with me so hopefully they will come out well.
Im staying in Auckland just for tonight then i leave early tomorrow morning to head to mercury bay and the rest of the north island this week. Ill try update as soon as i can.
Lots of love to you all.
