hello!

Just thought I would write about my brilliant weekend, iv uploaded three pics and I will upload more tomorrow!

So this weekend I went to Ko Lak, for two days and nights. We set off on Friday morning and arrived on Friday afternoon, just spending the afternoon chilling on the beach and in the sea and then having some good Thai food at a nearby restaurant. We stayed in a resort which was like a set of mini bunglows, I stayed with Clare, the rooms were so nice and best of all.............. HOT WATER BABY! Wow I was so happy! Saturday began the epic journey to Burma for a few of us to renew our visas, the journey and the boat ride over there are just storys in themselves, from dodgy wooden long tail boats, to making friends with the Thai army at the immigration point in the middle of the Burmese sea (pics will be on tomorrow!) Burma itself was a definate culture shock, it makes me happy to be from somewhere like England when you see how the other half of the world actually live.

On the way back to Ko lak we stopped in a village which was badly hit by the Tsunami and visited the memorial building. It truely does move you to think of what happened four years ago. I frelt myself welling up looking at the pictures of the devastation. Then it was back to our room to shower and smarten up and go for PIZZA! woooo! so so happy!

Tpday was just a day spent doing some much earned relaxing on the beach before going back to base, and starting planning my lessons all over again!

Right sorry that was a short entry I have so much to say but instead of stealing the net on base I decided to trek in a monsoon to the net cafe, I will upload more pics either monday or Thuesday.
