Our bus ride to Ho chi Minh wasn't as straight forward as expected. What was meant to be an 8 hour bus journey turned into 2 bus rides and a 4 hour wait! The highlight was sitting on a local bus with all the Vietnamese staring and talking about us! One women even barked at Dick! We got to see some great scenery and local living as the bus only travelled at 10 mile an hour and stopped at every village to pick up groceries or packages!
Ho Chi Minh had a really nice feel about it and lots of energy, we were amazed by the amount of mopeds on the road, crossing a road was a mission! We explored the local markets, visited the war museum, tasted the street food, and also dined in a lovely rooftop restaurant looking over the city.
Our journey then continued to Mui Ne, a surfer beach town up the coast. We explored the area on our sporty moped, and went out for an indian which resulted in d*** having a panic attack followed by tears from the heat of the tikka masala as we asked for it spicy! Even the rice had chillies in it. Amy however manned up and found it delicious!
We also booked a sunrise tour in a jeep to visit the sand dunes. We had to be up at 4am so had an early night, half an hour in we discovered the security guard trying to break into our room which ended in a very sleepless night and his arrest the next day!
The sand dunes were lots of fun, especially sand boarding. we also visited a local fishing village where the beach was filled with Vietnamese wives waiting for there husbands catch to arrive. The last part of the tour was walking up a beautiful winding stream that came from a waterfall.
Next stop Nha Trang.
Ames and d*** xx

Ilayda Yes many people in other conutries speak English better than some that have lived here all of their lives. Go to an inner city or out into the country and see if you can even understand half of what the people say out there.
