we have spent the last week on the beautiful island of Ko Rong with our lovely friends Melanie and Thomas Morgan's! the island was remote with no roads, but beautiful beaches that were backed with thick jungle. Unaware of the dangers we happily trekked into the jungle bare foot from a deserted beach on our first day, later to find out about all the poisonous snakes and spiders, we were a bit cautious from then on!
We stayed in a double dating bamboo hut with a huge lizard as our pet and a water buffalo as our neighbour!
the weather was great apart from one day as its now the rainy season but we happily entertained ourselves with a games tournament in the bar which Mel successfully won.
we went fishing one day with a local Cambodian on his dodgy boat, we had plastic bottles with line wrapped around as our rods, we caught 60 fish, which they later BBQ'd every single one for us! d*** was unsure about all the bones and was debating burying his in the sand!
The day before we left we plucked up the courage to go back into the jungle after the stories we had heard. We done a one hour trek to the other side of the island to a deserted 7km beach to watch an amazing sunset.
we are now back on mainland with the luxuries of electricity after 10 and wifi. We have departed with Mel and Tom, we are heading east towards Vietnam. We are currently in a town called Kampot staying in some huts on the river, we have been kayaking, and will get some mopeds out to explore the surrounding hills Tommorow.
Speak soon,
Ames and d*** xxx
