New town, new hostel! This one is is a 14 bed dorm; all female so hopefully less snoring! There are 2 private toilets and showers with 3 sinks and mirrors; all separate which is awesome. This is a massive 9 story hostel that looks like an old hotel.
The train from Stirling to Glasgow was like a mix between the skytain and a railway train. This one is better than the skytrain though because there were people with reserved seats, wine and little plastic wine glasses! They check your ticket when you enter the station and you have to put your ticket in the turnstile to leave on the other end; no honor system here!
Gord's friend, Andrew, who is from BC but now lives in Glasgow is picking me tomorrow to show me some of what Glasgow has to offer. I haven't seen a lot so far, but it seems it's a place where old meets new. I took a picture of a new high-rise covered in mirrored glass that reflects a very old St. Andrews Cathedral.
I havent decided yet whether to book a tour to Northern Scotland or take the train to Inverness and rent a car from there....there's been mixed reviews.
The people here have been awesome. I ask for assistance a lot and everyone has been great, some going out of their way to help. Little things throw me off... like the train experience as a whole, finding food and directions lol A couple people see the map and just offer to help
After my dinner at another vegetarian/vegan restaurant with gluten free options (we're everywhere!!), The 13th Note, I plan on walking around and taking more pictures before going to bed early again to try and get rid of this cold. Could be worse though...I could have to work tomorrow

Debbi/Mom Sounds like you are having a great time, aside from the cold. Is it damp there? I like the idea of the rental car, but could be a challenge driving! Love Mom
amyfouquette Aside from the cold, yes :) Very damp!! It's been raining for days lol I've been told there's a little less sunshine than Vancouver Driving will be a challenge...for directions and because they drive on the opposite side of the road!! No worries though...for an extra 10£ a day I can get GPS; well worth the investment!!
