So tomorrow we are going to the Amazon for 4 days! Really excited! We are going with a great group of 6 people. Should be wicked. We have to leave the hostel at 7am and get a flight, on what we think will be a rickty old plane, from Quito airport into the jungle, then we have a canoe trip for 2 hours down the river to our lodge. It was a choice of a 30minute flight for 60 dollars more or an 8 hr bus journey on un-made tracks up, down and around mountains. Come on, what would you choose??

JOsh, Candi and I have also made plans to go to Cotopaxi for 2 nights on Saturday when we get back. Cotopaxi is the volcano and is 6000 ft up high, although i think our hostel is a little lower. It will still be interesting going from here in Quito which is about 2000ft to the amazon then straight to high altitude.....We shall have to see who gets altitude sickness? Especilly as we can all notice getting out of breath just walking up a hill or stairs in Quito as its alot higher then what we are used to!

Anyway, today we went to a local market which was wicked, I definietly got to practice my haggaling (excuse my spelling) skills and talk the local language. Btw my Spanish is definitely improving now we are stuck in the thick of it. Alhtough fortunately some of our friends are very good at Spanish so its great to leave the hard work to them!

Right, I'm now about to go out to the New Town for dinner, so i'm off. Hopeeveryone back home is all great.
