So...now in Columbia. Been here since Sat, although have been travelling around mainly. Josh and I left Banos on Thursday with Markus and Candi, went to Quito and met up with Charlotte on the Friday. Charlotte is a french-canadian girl. Lovely. She was planning on travelling to Columbia on her own, we met her in Banos, and told her to come with us. So On the Friday we meet up with her.
We met with Nicole again in Quito and went out for dinner Thurs night, and on the Friday Josh and I had to say our goodbyes to Candi, as she was off to the beach with Nicole. Literally she has been a wicked travelling partner....with def muiss her MANY stories.
So we stayed Friday night...Charlotte and I made a cake...haha. And we left for the boarder early Sat morning, saying goodbye to Markus in Quito. The bus to the boarder (Tulcan) was 5 hours. The boarder was interesting......none of us spoke much Spanish so it took prob twice as long as it would a local to cross into columbia.
Once in we got another bus to a place called Pasto...literally just a place to sleep, as we were heading for Cali. The views in the buses were amazing...although I must say Shelle I know you would hate the mountain roads and the speed of the drivers sometimes.
We left for Cali...a 9 hr bus journey on Sun and arrived in Cali Sun night. It was quite dead, but yuo culd tell it would be buzzing at the weekend. Shame we didnt stay for longer, but Josh and I only really have 2 weeks for Columbia, as it was not in our original plans.
We stayed one day and went to the zoo.....apparently the nest one in Columbia......noting on London zzoo though. Seeing the different animals really made me miss Candi though.....literally walking animal encyclopaedia.
We left for Menellin on Monday eve and we arrived here Tuesday morning. Been chilling in Menellin at the moment. The currancy in Columbia is very strange.....$1 is about 2000 pesos. So it is hard to keep track on how much Im spending.
Met up with a few freinds here and had a few drunken nights lol. Hopefully meeting up with Susan again in Santa Marta and getting my Scuba diving Licence, cost permitting.
Leaving for Santa Marta tonight.....16hr bus ride....honestly not looking forward to it. But hopefully will be worth it as its alwasy about 35 degress there and it is the beach! Get myself a tan lol.
If I can I will try and upload some photos on here, but at the moment the internets been quite slow.
Talk soon
