Day 57: No pearl Harbour, so a trip to Hanauma bay instead.
I woke up early and went to the beach/ Gettong to the beach is a bit difficult (even though it is so close) as most of the access is through a maze of hotels, but when I did find it, it literally took my breathe away. I ignored all the tourists crowding the beach and enjoyed the clear blue sea, hot white sand and the rolling green hoills as a back drop. After getting a bit too crispy, I headed bacl to the hostel to get directions to Pearly Harbour. I was told that I was too late and that you have to leave before 8am to get there, Oh well, I saw it from the plabe, SO instead, I took the bus to hanauma bay which was beautiful, and much less crowded. Once I got back to Waikiki, I decided to quit being a wimp and go surifng again. The so called baby waves were not so baby, but compared to their usual winter waves, I guess they are. But there was no rip current and the surf was much easier - I really enjoyed myself.
When I got back to the hostelm there was a note on the door saying that they had a dorm room for me - damn it,
In the evening we went to one of the posh resort hotels to watch a traditional hawaiian band, hula dancers and a fire dancer from Samoa. Was really cool and a good insite to traditional hawaii. Onto Maui tomorrow and I can't wait!
