Today we were heading back into Ulaanbaatar for the night before catching a train to Russia. After breakfast in the dinning Ger we packed up our gear and headed off. Again it was freezing and the heater wasn't working to well in the mini van, so we froze again on the way back to the hotel. When we arrived into Ulaanbaatar we went and got some lunch then wondered around Ulaanbaatar and did a bit of shopping. We went to shop, which supports widowed women in Mongolia. It sells hand made clothing and crafts. I bought a pair of knitted socks, made out of Camel, sheep wool and cashmere. Very toasty.
I then went and used the Internet with Tina for a couple of hours before going back to the hotel to warm up. When I got back to the hotel there was no power or heating so it was rather cold in the room. My roommate Pam was also not back yet and it was starting to get dark so I was a bit worried about her. Pam eventually got back at 6.45pm and found out that she got lost and had all sorts of trouble trying to get back.
We went to dinner at a Mongolian restaurant, where they serve horse steaks. A few of the group tried it but I couldn't bring myself to eat it, especially after I had only ridden one the day before. They did however serve a really nice cocktail called "Hammer". It was vanilla ice cream, Kaluha and Rum. It was sooooo nice! Couldn't just stop at one.
After dinner we headed back to the hotel and thankfully the power was back on but the heating wasn't working so we were given heaters for our room.
