Woke up at 8am to the sound of the phone, it was Hiro calling to ask where I was. Stupidly I didn't wake up to my alarm. Quickly throwing everything into my bag I made my way down to reception to meet and apologise to the group for running late. Not a good start! We then caught a train to Tokyo station. Whilst Hiro went and validated some of the groups rail passes we went and looked at the Imperial Palace, but we couldn't really see it all as we only had ½ hr to check it out.
We then went and met Hiro back at the station at 9.30am, then caught a train to Ginza to watch a Kabuki. Whilst waiting in line some of us went and got some food to eat. We then went up and watched the first act. I was trying so hard not to fall asleep. I'd wish I'd gotten the audio in English as then I might've enjoyed it a bit more, but it was still good to see.
After the play we caught another train to Harajuku. Here we saw the cosplay girls and boys, dancing Elvis' and the Meiji-jingu shrine. Hiro took myself, Michael, Kristen and Michelle through the shrine. We saw quite a few wedding ceremonies at the shrine, and for some reason the groom and bride looked miserable. Not sure if it was part of the culture or they really didn't want to marry each other. Afterwards Hiro took Michelle, Kristen and myself through the main shopping district, which was absolutely packed with teenagers.
After about an hour or so of wondering we then headed back to the hotel to meet the rest of the group. Tonight we were catching a train to Nikko. The trains in Japan were amazing, so fast, clean and really easy to work out. We arrived in Nikko around 7.30pm, piled into a cab then went straight to the hotel to check in. I ended up getting my own room again as I'm the only single girl on the tour. We then meet down in reception to go out for dinner.
Hiro ended up taking us to the really nice place in the main centre. We played a quiz and one of the prizes was a purple "Hello Kitty" pen and Michelle asked Hiro if the pen was purple for a reason. We all looked at her dumbfounded by this question, we all said in unison, "It's just a pen!" After dinner we all wanted to go back to the hotel, as it was so cold. I stayed up for a bit on the Internet, and then went to sleep.
