I always make it to internet cafes at the most inconvenient times. Right now, I'm savagely starved, and thus have no patience to type... much less conjure up all that has happened in the past two days. A lifetime of memories already... some bleek images, and some hysterically funny encounters. I'll make myself an outline so that I remember to include everything next time I sit down to write. Oh university education, how useful you are. (;
*Moa: my beautiful Swedish friend. Our exploits through Delhi--restaurant visits, hotel room sharing and plans to trek in Nepal. Encounters with other travellers, most notably two British bachelors... and the quote "Wait, I have to stop smiling" Me: "Why?" Brit: "You have to look miserable in photos to look good." Me: "Where are you from? Brit: "England" Me: "Oh, that's quite apt (referencing the miserable quote)."
*My somewhat unnerving trip to Connaught Place... trials and tribulations of arriving early and being the first customer at many shops. New glasses! Unwanted company.
*First day in Delhi--images, anxiety, chai and Miss Canada.
*Trip to Rishikesh--train to Haridwar, bus (with wonderful yet obnoxious horn) to Rishikesh. German acquaintances, Indian Jeweller friend and the ridiculous character Assaf--the 35 year old Israeli filmmaker. His hilarious anecdotes, remarks and sexual advances. Happy cows, the raging Ganga and frequent power outages.
Okay... that should do it for now.
All my love to everyone! Personal (group?) emails to come.
