Well apologies for the lack of contact but the computers were just so slow in Bali and Lombok that we gave up trying to update our adventures! As you can see we have made it to Meblourne after an exciting 2 weeks exploring Bali. We arrived on the 16th Feb and made it to Kuta where we spent a couple of nights testing out the nightlife and shopping...and so we have now acquired a few new outfits which is much appreciated and now well used! So the shopping was definately a good investment. We mainly chilled by our pool until we made a move towards the Gili islands as Kuta was becoming a bit much...however we almost didnt make it as we stupidly decided to go out the night before we planned to leave so only had 45mins sleep. We set the alarm thinking we would wake up quite easily, however slept through it and woke up to someone thumping on our door...Alice stumbled out of bed and opened it to a man shouting 'taxi taxi'...'quickly!'. So realsing we had overslept we shoved all our stuff into our bags and made it to our minibus just in time. All feeling still quite drunk we ventured off into the unknown..luckily we met two aussie guys who tagged along with us for the rest of the day as they had sensibly had a night in before so were a lot more with it than we were. After a long day of 2 bus and boat trips and Alice falling in the mud..we finally made it to these paradise islands and found a cheap place to stay (2.50 a night!..with air con, hot water, tv and dvd!) So we chilled here for about a week, saying goodbye to Kate along the way who is now in Fiji starting her marine conservation course, and of course testing out all of our newly bought DVDs! The weather was a bit s***y for a while, but after Kate left the sun was out and so chilled on the beach and swam in the sea. After a while of this paradise we ran out of money (no ATMS on the island) and so headed back to Kuta. You will all be very impressed that after strict instructions from Adrian we went off to explore Ubud for the day with our own personal driver! We were very cultural, taking in the temples, markets, museums, paintings and artists studios and of course getting a pedicure after a long hard day! We thought we needed a treat..haha. So time flew by and before we knew it we were on our next flight to Melbourne. Have to say the flight was not too comfortable as we were sat near 4 screaming babies throughout the night..so had no sleep whatsoever. We arrived nice and early feeling bright and breezy ready to take on Australia. We met Suszie (Hellys friend) and she kindly took us back to hers where we stayed for a couple of nights, feeling absolutely shattered and caught up on a lot of needed sleep! Helly was very excited to feel carpets again and sleep with a duvet. However we did manage to go out for a nice dinner by the river and explored the city a bit before crashing out for about 12 hours. Next Hannah came to pick us up and took us vintage shopping and finally home, and safe to say we are settling in just fine! We both feel its nice to be in a house again where we can do our washing and have family meals again :)
Hope everyones well! We certaintly are!
