It was hard deciding which photograph to post for this blog entry! So I choose one that was a great shot ; you can almost feel the Almighty in this one. I will post a few other pictures in our album, given I have several interesting photographs that are amazing because THE PLACE is amazing. Annie and I have been to wonderful Venice Beach in CA, but Venice, Italy is a journey back in time where time stands still in many ways. You do not need a guidebook or guide. Getting lost is the fun part and we had a 12 hour pass to inable us to hop on a water taxi anywhere and anytime. However, Annie got seasick so the boat pass was used less. But we walked the alleys, went over bridges, sought out quaint shops, checked out out the WONDERFUL masks and Murano blown glass. The churches were heavenly and there was always some wonderful music. I read that this Italian jewel is sinking and the water level is getting higher. Right now there is a plan and project in the works which will hopefully reduce the sinking and it is pretty high tech! The project is be completed in 2014 and involves pressure bags underneath the water at the entrance mouths into the city. So when lots of water comes from the sea and heads for the city, the bags inflate to push the water back out to the sea. They say only time will tell to know if it will work. Visit Venice if you ever have a chance. It is expensive and costs to sit down! However, we love it!!
