Super super early start... Followed by a long cold bus journey and then a long ferry ride which was okay because it went fast as we were all talking so much.
Then we arrived in Picton... Yay South island!!!
We met the new magic bus driver Soap who seemed pretty cool then set off for Nelson.
On the way we stopped at a winery for some tasting which would have been really fun, but it was closed!! Instead we bought fudge which made us all feel sick then got back on the bus for another long bus ride.
At Nelson, we booked in to do the Abel Tasman walk on the 10th which is a national park and has lots of walking tracks you can do. Then we went and bought food, and Tim cooked us all a lasagne which was super nice and being the party animals we are we all went to bed pretty early.
The next day, we headed into town as Tim needed the post office to ask about a parcel and I wanted to find some approach trainers for walking the Abel Tasman and for when I'm in Alaska.
Most trainers here are around $250 but somehow ... I have no idea how, we found some for $62. Bobby bargain!!!
Then Tim and Alice had booked to go micro lighting that afternoon which is like a motorbike with a hand glider on top I guess.
Me and Lucy went back into town to post Tim's parcel for him and then had a cheeky pint in the pub before heading back to the hostel and walking to 'the centre of New Zealand' It was a pretty steep track and was quite a long walk but we made it to the top where there's a huge needle that points to the geographical centre of NZ.
So pictures were taken then we headed back, ate food and slept.
