We met our new bus drivers this morning, Mark, who seems nice enough, then set off heading for Greymouth.
Along the way we stopped at a seal lookout where we could see all little seal pups playing on the rocks which was really cute.
We got to Greymouth and I'm not sure we really knew what to make of it, the place is tiny and there's really not a lot to do here. The only reason people really come is that the TransAlpine train that runs across the island ends in greymouth, but we made the most of it and booked on to the brewery tour that they have here.
We got picked up at 5:40 and were all taken to the brewery; we now had Arianne from Germany and Raphael from Brazil with us.
We were given a wooden tasting platter with 6 different types of draught from cider to a shandy like lager, a lager, a beer, an ale and a black beer like Guinness. I had a sip of some of them and really wasn't keen on the lager or ale that we were served and lucky for me some people didn't like cider so I swapped the ones I didn't like for cider.
I was very classy and downed the black beer and standard beer then drank the rest in the hour we were given.
By the end of the hour, I was definitely feeling extremely tipsy even on the verge of drunk and included in our tour was a meal so we headed off to a hotel where our meal was being served.
It was a really nice little place and we all ordered fish and chips or as they say it 'Fush and chups' haha.
It was quite a good night in the end but one night is definitely enough in greymouth.
Back at the hostel, I rang home as it was Suz's birthday and got to speak to her and charl which was really really nice!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUZ!!!! Xxx
