After sleeping away the better part of the last 24hrs I've just left my orientation and debriefing at the Conservation Volunteers Austaralia office. I have the weekend to explore Perth/the surrounding area and will begin my first assignment on Monday.

Beginning Monday morning, I will begin a two week project in the bush with ten other volunteers. Our project will be observing and recording information on the Mallefowl bird (a mound building bird). I will be staying in shears quarters while away for those two weeks so will not be able to update my trials and tribulations of living a VERY simple, reasearchers life until I return.

I'll try to update at the end of the weekend about my first few days of exploration around the city!
