Today is London Eye day. I'm already cranky at the thought. I went on the Melbourne one and don't remember it fondly and it's like half the size.. Last night I slept a bit later. 3am. Go me!
Had to first go buy new shoes today and found a shop close by that was cheap enough for Carlos to allow me to get some (tightass) and it was like the Bronx! Haha I was scared... Anyway found fake chucks that I hate, but 10 pound you can't really complain. I wanted fancy nice London type boots!
Caught the underground again, and made our way to the London eye. This end of town is so busy all the time it's kinda annoying! Some lady shoved flowers in our jacket on the bridge and then suckered Carlos out of money saying that kids made them (cough, bulls***) and he gave her some.. Sigh.
Lined up for the London Eye, the length of the line not helping my anxiety, got on, and it actually wast so bad! Took a few photos and got to see cool views. Until about half up. Then it was horrendous and I hated every second. I had to sit as I had motion sickness or something. I dunno, it was a weird sensation, nevertheless, seeing the city from that view is pretty spectacular even when you're gripped with fear.
We made it out alive, albeit with Carlos pointing out loose bolts and us watching them bomb check every carriage before the next lot get on.
We went for a stroll where there were awesome street performers lining the st. Some are truly awesome! I also had to bandaid the s*** out of my feet from said ten pound s***ty shoes! Boots wouldn't have done that...
Back to value for money with the London pass again and we went to Westminster Abby. And wow, seriously wow. It's amazing. You can't take pics in there also, and I really hope I never forget how incredible it is. There are rooms upon rooms filled with amazing tombstones and statues and Kings and Queens buried. So many are so old, the writing is like old English and fading so hard to read.
You can see where Kate and Wills walked for their wedding and can have a wander all over. It's actually huge and just so impressive.
We are pushed for time today as I need to get back and nap before the lion king so we took a bus and rushed to Trafalgar Square which is also amazing, and went to the museum of art? Which was actually boring so we left pretty quickly. Came home and napped, then got ready for the Lion King which was amazing by the way! I loved it, even though I really struggled to stay awake through it. I'm such a nana with this travelling business!
