So, I haven't posted on here in awhile and I figured that it was time to post something again! Within the past five days a lot has happened. I still continued to babysit for other people here on some of the weekdays but last Wednesday, Jocelyn, Tristan and I went to Amsterdam for the day since Mike was able to work from home and take Kellan and Logan to school in the morning and was able to pick them up. It was about a 2 hour drive from their house, which isn't bad at all. I didn't know what to think when I first got there. There are more bikes than there are cars and bikers have the right of way on streets so, I almost got ran over a couple of times. It was super busy even with being there during the middle of the week rather than the weekend. We went and looked around The Red Light District and all of the little "coffee shops". Amsterdam is also the home of Anne Frank which is super cool because you can go and tour the house that had their secret hideaway! Tickets online were sold out until the middle of July and the line to buy tickets and get in the house would have taken hours. Unfortunately, we didn't get to go into the house but, I did get to see it from the outside! Also, the Van Gogh Museum is located in Amsterdam as well but, the line to buy tickets and go in there would have taken several hours too and since this was a very spontaneous trip, we didn't have much time on our hands. The buildings and houses were amazing to look at and lots of them are crooked which is what they are kind of known for. Supposedly, Amsterdam has more canals than Venice does! It didn't seem like it but the canals in Amsterdam are much longer than the ones in Venice. So that was one exciting thing that has happened since I've posted last and I'll put the pictures up too!
Next, Mike and Jocelyn's friends from Wisconsin are here now and are here until Wednesday. We are all going to Greece together but, they leave Wednesday and we leave Friday. Today we just showed them around downtown Dusseldorf and went out to eat for lunch. They brought their two kids with them too so there is a total of 10 people staying in the house right now...it's just a little chaotic. But, Greece is only 4 days away now and I can't wait! We fly into Crete which is one of the more well known islands there. We stay there for 5 nights and then take a ferry over to Santorini. We stay there for a couple nights and then fly into Athens for a day and then we leave for Germany again. So lots of traveling inside of traveling haha. Tomorrow we are going on the Rhein River Cruise, which is an hour long boat ride up and down the Rhein River. You get to see two small towns which the boats stop in and along the way you get to see castles! I can't wait. Time seems to be going by mich faster than when I first got here and I can't believe it because it seems like I'll be packing up to come home in no time!
Well that's all I have for you guys right now. I'll be sure to post the pictures of Amsterdam and the one's of tomorrow from the Rhein River Cruise. Love you all!
