Aloha Everyone!
So I'm almost done with week 3! Time is flying by so quickly!
In my last update I think I mentioned that we would be firefighting .. well it was awesome! We got to put out a "live fire" with an actual fire hose, we also used fire extinguishers, and had to find our way through a maze in complete darkness! It was a ton of fun, but it was also extremely hard!
So the ship has a "TV show" every Wednesday night called "Dancing with the American Stars". They take 8 crew members and pair them with 8 passengers we dance through about 4 or 5 pretty short rounds of music and are judged and one couple is knocked out each round. The more crazy or stupid your dancing, the better chance you have at winning, so naturally I was good at this!! I tried it on my first week and ended up winning! I had an amazing partner though, he even took off his shirt! (which basically sealed the deal for us!) it was soo much fun and I can't wait to do it again =]
The food has been great! We are on a Norwegian Cruise Line ship, which means it's freestyle cruising, as in the passengers can eat whenever they want, and there are a ton of specialty restaurants on board, there is an italian place, sushi/habachi, french bistro, diner. They have a buffet where people don't have to dress up and it is also free. There is also two nice restaurants that are free of charge, but the passengers have to dress up to go there. Some of the specialty restaurants cost a little extra, but it's usually only around 20 bucks, for the entire meal. We are allowed to eat in the speciallty restaurants, we just have to wait until they aren't busy.
As we enter into the Christmas/New year's time things are going to start to get crazy. We were pretty busy in the spa this week, but I have a feeling we are definitely going to be swamped next week, which is good!
Today they are having a Christmas lunch for us in one of the big free restaurants, we are also getting presents (Whoop!!) Everyone says it's usually like a rain jacket that says NCL or something like that.
As they say in Hawaii: Mele Kalikimaka!! (Merry Christmas!)
