Finally got to meet some Thai students at the "Cool Cafe" last night; found them lovely, if a little shy, and most of them speak enough English to get into a convo of some sort. Have been picking up some Thai, little by little, though as a tonal language, it's difficult to master.
It's exciting to start building some relationships, and to learn a little about what it means to be a Christian in Thailand, a predominantly Buddhist country.
Bussed up to Naresuan Uni this morning - the first long trip in daylight was fascinating, with thatched-roof stalls on the roadside, spirit-house shops, lots of people on motorbikes, billboards with pictures of the king, flooded fields and lots of greenery, less smog as we get further from the city. Spent this afternoon in a prayer walk / tour round the uni, by foot and solar-powered van-bus. The picture you see is one I took near the youth house at dusk.
Time for dinner soon, so that's it from me. Tomorow we begin teaching, mostly conversational stuff, so that'll be interesting.
