Arrived into the station after a long day of travelling on slow trains and the Eurostar from Milan. Bit of faff at the station to buy train tickets to Rome, and to find the bus stop. About a 25 minute bus journey to campsite, which is on a hill overlooking the city. The views are spectacular. The campsite is just next to Piazzale Michelangelo, a large open space with the usual street sellers and a replica statue of David. Lots of tourists here for the view. At a restaurant nearby having dinner now. The campsite itself is set in a shady olive grove, but it's very basic. Our so-called cabin is just a big tent with a bunk bed and a bin, not exactly homely. We'll try to spend most of the time in the city. Going to Pisa on Monday, which will keep us busy for a day.
