Hi!
Checked into the hostel in Arsenal on Thursday and pretty much just chilled for the day, it rained so stayed in doors. The place we're staying at there is a pub underneath it which is handy, its massive but not ever really full. There's a bar, pool tables and stacks of space in the common room, room for a kitchen which they advertised but do not have and breakfast which is meant to last til 10, by 9:30 there is no food left! Not happy about, we've been having to eat out alot more which still only consists of sandwiches but it's still money that we could have avoided spending! The people who are staying here are - for the majority- quite rude. Slamming doors constantly and not saying anything back when you try talk to them. It seems though that guys are the friendliest. We've met an Aussie and an American guy who's staying in our room, Michaels having a beer with him as I type.
On Friday it was a beautiful day so we went over to Camden Markets. New favourite place! Small markets everywhere, 100s and 100s of them all of food, clothes, bags, jewellry and food! Mum, you would LOVE it :)
Its all quite cheap too - the clothes anyway. Food is a bit pricey because of all the tourists. I'll be going there definately when we settle down to buy some dresses!
Then last night we went back to Russell Square to catch up with a guy we met at the last hostel before he shoots over to Paris. Ended up being quite a big one and got a bit messy at the end - including a security guard pushing me, Michael getting angry and a bit of a scuffle. Nothing major but was a bit tense - other than that had a blast and feeling a bit sorry for myself today! There was an Arsenal game on today and it was crazy! People everywhere walking around with jerseys on, we're right around the corner from the stadium and the bar downstairs was packed but emptied out closer to the game as they all went to watch it at the stadium.
Arsenal lost 2-0 and everyone went ballistic, it was great to experience the atmosphere! People chanting and yelling, was funny.
Havn't left the hostel today, it's been raining most of the day anyway. Tomorrow we're going to Jillians for some Sunday lunch and wine, she's lovely and letting us leave a suitcase there before we go travelling around Europe.
Our accommodation runs out Tuesday and we'll be going to Toms then for a couple of nights, crashing on his sofa lounge. Hopefully our bank cards have arrived, although I havn't been getting ATM charges as Westpac and Barclays are friends but Michael has been hit with a $14 fee and a $19 fee!!!
Hope all is well with everyone, I keep wanting to call and send postcards but we're constantly doing things and when we're not it's because we too tired or hungover!
Love you all
