Hello!
So last time I was saying how it was raining and bad weather, well that night in the common room of our Arsenal hostel we met two Americans, an Aussie and a Finish guy so what happened? We all ended up going out! Didn't get home til 5:30 Sunday morning, there was a guy in the club who looked about 50 and was wearing a suit and was dancing to crazy dance music. Good on him!
Sunday we went to Jillians for lunch, it was a beautiful day and we had a picnic in her lounge room, was quite nice! And I was able to leave my suitcase there full of stuff that I won't need til we get back.
Sunday night Chris, who we had gone out with that Friday, got into contact with us and told us that there was a free cricket match at Lords (home of cricket).
Michael doesn't like cricket and I don't really care for it but hey, free game at the home of cricket - why not! So we went there at about 2pm and it was a hot sunny day so we just sat there - there were 5 of us - for bout 5 hours chilling out, getting a tan and had a couple of beers.
I think I started to understand the rules at the end of the game!
Tuesday it was raining. Raining. Raining. Raining. We had to sign out of the hostel and trek it to Toms in Acton Town, by the time we got there we were quite wet and cold. We cooked a few meals for the boys to say thank you for letting us stay.
Wednesday was my 21st!!! How did we celebrate? Walked to some shops, I bought a bag (which I needed!), we went home and Michael watched 'football' while I read!
Thursday we went to tthe Natural History Museum which has made me even more certain than ever that I do NOT want kids!!!
Friday, Tom, Michael and I went out and celebrated my birthday and went out to a club which had big square lights locked in like a chess board but with blues and greens and pinks and yellows as the dancefloor. It was very cool and a lot of fun!
Saturday we chilled out and did nothing.
On Sunday we left Toms, thanked him for putting up with us and left for Moreton-In-Marsh. We had to go from Acton to Victoria to print out tickets for the First Western train that we needed to jump on to get us to the Cottswolds. We were running around frantically looking for this machine that prints out tickets, people were everywhere and and I asked five people, FIVE people and not one could tell me where this bloody machine was! Finally Michael asked someone who knew, we grabbed out tickets, hopped on the tube to go back from the direction we came from and go up to Paddington which was where we hopped on the First Western to go to Moreton-In-Marsh. Yes. Massive effort. We were too close to missing the train too!
Arrived in Moreton and Lesley came and picked us up, took us a tour of their house which will hopefully have finished renovations at Christmas time, it's a lovely, beautiful home!!!
Yesterday we went walking around Stow-On-The-Wold which is a pretty little village and today we went to Stratford which is the birth place of William Shakespeare. Lots of tourists there, even though really there isn't THAT much to see, still a very pretty town though.
We're going on a bike ride tomorrow which will take a couple of hours up to another pretty village and on Thursday afternoon we're going upto Birmingham to see Billy.
On the 7th it's Michaels birthday, on the 8th Sept we're flying out to Trieste and then staying in Venice for a couple of nights, very excited! But that's all the plans at the moment. Will no doubt spend a few more nights in Venice though.
Still having a blast and loving seeing new places!
Bye bye now!
