As soon as the first night was over and i woke up this place sure seems amazing. ive traveled out of the lodge and visted a temple stopping off at a noodle bar around the corner. the temple sure looked amazing and just outside the entrance there is a pot of smoke created from sticks that people have created a prayer on. people will walk upto this pot and wash themselves with the smoke or place it over an item for luck i guess. there was a statue to the right of that with a water fountine where people would use a tiny pot on a stick and wash their hands and have a drink, ive tried this out and a overwelming feeling of happiness appears.. most odd but very good. i then walked up into the temple and had my fortune, it would cost 100 yen and from what i got was the worst possable fortune predicted. Summed up it seemed life isn't worth living saying that i will never find happeness, ill never marry and be happy, ill never be happy in a job, life will just be crap.. so after being a little wierded out from that i washed myself in smoke and had and went back to the fountine. it began to rain but still remained very hot and humid. james and i walked along the street and found our way into a arcade centre (one of many!) and the machines there are just amazing, all people of all ages will visit these places and waste days inside, and i can't blame them. ranging from electronic horse racing to multiplayer games that you collect electronic cards to play.
we then walked back and checked into our new hostel which fortunatly was just around the corner. we then planned to catch a few z's before trekking out again but unfortunatly we woke at 9:30 and it was all to late. so we traveled to the local bar where we met an american kid called eric who seemed to be very chatty and loved life, an swedish chap who was inlove with Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder! he was called Andras and was a funny chap, there was also a Finnish chap but i cant remeber his name. so after lots of drinking we retuned back to the hostel with everyone then met a scottish girl called samatha who is working in a bar on tokyo for a year. We made a trip to the local 7 11 and brought some wine for about 1.20 and some beer that apparently brewed for people to have a good time! after drinking more till about 3 we decided to go back to the 7 11 to get more. here we met a couple of enthusastic japanese guys who convinced us to come back to their bad and drink. so we did and we all chatted and drank till about 7 in the morning, their hoping to meet up with us all later and take us to a cheap bar.
I woke this morning at 8:30 and was unable to get back to sleep so i got up and treked around the town, we changed back to the smile hostel where james was too hung over to do anything so he crashed out and i trekked around town and got some more noodles! ive just now returned tired and ready for a long shower.
not sure how much of this will make sence as im still feeling extremely tired. I am really loving it over here already though and am feeling like i should be here for longer as the city is so large and there is so much to do and see. the whole place is wonderful and the people are extremely nice and curtious. time to sleep now hopefully.
