21st august
this morning, we went to the beach straight after breakfast. It was so hot, no clouds and the sun was out until about 8pm.
Trudy was sunburnt, so she was cautious, and covered herself with cream. It was pretty packed at the beach, but not many people swim compared to sun baking, which explains why every ones skin looks like leather.
After swimming a bit, activities started at this shack pretty close by.
SO.... Trudy and I went Para-sailing. Woohoo!
It was pretty fun, Trudy thought it was going to be really scary, but it's not, quite relaxing in fact. Mum, you should definitely do it one day, we went so high, and when he turns around you drop into the water, and we got dragged for a bit, before taking off again.
After that, it was about lunch time, so we headed to the hotel, where we watched a movie, and then ate some food.
At about 3, we went out, and walked everywhere. What everyone needs to know is that all the streets in Nice, (most of them) are going uphill, and that the temperature of the day was about 30 -32 degrees C.
It was fun. Ahaha
So we walked through the alleys and back streets, and made our way up a huge hill, where there was great views of the city.
Next door was this old cemetery, where we looked around, and it had the largest gravestones I had seen. One was a big thing, with angels on it flying up, and it had to be about 3 or 4 metres tall.
It did get a bit creepy....for me at least so we left.
We managed to find ourself this large area, that was once part of a castles grounds. The cemetery was also part of them.
It was huge, we just kept taking stairs and stairs until we got to what we thought would be the top, but instead, it was a waterfall, a bit random up the middle of a hill, but really nice.
Eventually we found the castle, which by then was in ruins. Hahaha but yeah the castle was in ruins, so not very impressive, just piles of rocks.
The view was even better than before though, you could see the entire city, way out to see, and way back to the hills. It was great.
We got an ice cream, and ate it in the shade, before we found a park, and had a nice rest.
As we made our descent down hill, we found a wedding party that we accidently walked through, and that the hillside in Nice is lined with so many little stone paths, that each one takes you to a different spot.
We sat and talked, and read, under the trees, as it was really too hot to be in the sun.
When we made it to the board walk, where we were yesterday, we got some pizza for dinner, and looked at the people on the beach.
We went out again at night, to the beach, and had a really nice swim. It was so cool, and the water was still warm.
There was a fashion show on the private beach just next door, which meant we got free music, and entertainment for the time, and the jelly fish and seaweed floating to shore made an interesting guessing game for us when we swam through whatever it was. The waves also got really massive....for where we were, I swear they would have been about 1 and a half feet high.lol
So Nice was really nice, hahaha. We had a great time.
