This morning was just terrible.
First we get up and the first thing we see is that its pouring down rain outside, which was bloody hopeless.
We had breakfast, which was alright, and then left in the rain for the train station to book some seats to Florence on the 22nd.
The streets in the wet we're really slippery... for me, as I had the worst thongs in the world. (the simpsons ones siggie, if u remember malaysia)
Anyway, every 2 steps I almost slipped on my face, so we had to walk extra slow, wich wasn't fun in the rain.
To make things worse, about half way there, we realised that we didn't have the Earail passes we needed to book seats. So back we went, got the tickets and restarted the walk to the train station.
When we got there, my thong actually managed to break, so I was walking with one on and barefoot on the other side.
We waited in line for about 20 minutes, and finally booked the seats for Sunday.
I managed to get another pair of thongs after that, and then we started to have a good time.
Since it was raining, we looked in the shops down the mainstreet. We found this big plaza, where we had a good time, not buying to much as we still need room in our bags.
For lunch we went back to our hotel and made some sandwiches that we're totally awesome.
After lunch we walked optimistically through the rain without an umbrella, just in the hopes it would stop, which it did!! :-)
So we went to the beach.
The beach was a rocky one, but it was so nice, the water was a bit cold and there were no waves, really nice to swim around in.
The sun started blaring down, and in the water it was nice. Funny, cause about 5 metres from the beach, its already too deep to touch the bottom, and if you get further out, its really deep...and for mum, since I am writing this blog, I am ok.
After swimming, we walked along the waterside, with a couple of ice - creams.
We walked pretty far, and then U turned, and through this crowded mall to our hotel where we watched a movie and had dinner before going out.
We walked down to the main town area, where we saw the same break dancers, and the spray painting dude.
We then walked through a park, and through all these alley ways, past heaps of outdoor restaurants, souvenir shops, and gelato stalls (we got some). It was just amazing to see all these little shops everywhere, in between all the tall buildings.
We then went to the beach, sat on the boardwalk and ate the gelato, and took pictures of the sunset. Isn't that nice :-)
We then waked up to the headland, where there was a lookout where you could see all the lights and buildings in the city.
We strolled back to the hotel, only to see more totally wicked rollerbladers, skateboarders, dancers, and painters again. The area we are in is so busy all the time, (which Trudy doesn't like cause apparently she can't sleep hahahaha)
When we got to the hotel we went to sleep, only after Trudy once again could tell me that she can't remember the last time she was so sunburnt. (really badly)
NIGHT.
