Floyd's Pelican Bar is a tiny bar stilted on a huge sandbar about 3/4 mile out in the sea made of driftwood. Located in the Parottee Bay on the South Coast of Jamaica, one of the most unique places in the world to have a drink and meal, possibly one of the best bars in the Caribbean. To get to the small island where Floyd's Pelican Bar is located, you have to take a twenty minute boat ride. Once you get there, you usually just relax, hang out, play dominos, or swim in the ocean. Do not forget something personal from your home country, because the inside of the bar is covered in relics from all parts of the world. The bar was made in 2001, of driftwood, palm fronds, and coconut tree trunks driven down into the sand. Large flocks of Pelicans rest on the sand banks everyday, so that's where the name comes from. Floyd's Pelican Bar is a great relaxing spot to just have a drink or meal, and maybe even see a stingray or dolphin swimming by.
