Hey all!

We are in Singapore now, when we got off the plane we decided to make our own way to our hostel instead of lpaying for a taxi so we got the MRT and followed some directions. We got off the MRT but could not find the place at all even though we were on the road it said it was on! We got really stressed out and a man from Singapore tried to help us but they hadnt even heard of the place! We finally found it luckily adn when the we saw the receptionist man he said that our room had flooded so we could not stay there! He said that he had arranged alternative accommodation so we had to do more walking with our backpacks to a place called the Soho hotel. We found the place a lot easier and the guy at reception seemed very nice. When he showed us our room we were horrified! it really is the definition of a backpacker hostel. There is female dorm aswell but we thinksome of the people in the dorm actually live there. We have got to know the receptionist guys quite well, the call Alex Alexander the Great and me Barbie Doll. They say that my hair and skin are all silky smooth and that i am so white, which i am but it doesnt seem unique to me. They also said i was very exotic looking which i thought only applied to mediterranean women? We have been stared at a lot and children have been pointing at us because we are white and that i have fair hair! the people here have been nothing but friendly so we have definitely enjoyed our time! Anyway on the first night we had to go out and get drunk because of our room so we went to a bar which turned out to be a karaoke bar and we met a man from Singapore called Franky. He was going out with the bar maid so was just hanging out on his own and joined us when we came in. They were all singing english songs on the karaoke and tried to get us to but we werent that drunk!

On the second day we went to Sentosa island which is south of Singapore to the Underwaterworld, and we also went to see a dolphin show where the main Dolphin was called Jumbo. The waterworld was good but Alex says London Aquarium is better! For tea we went to eat on the food stalls in Chinatown, there really is no Western food here! Alex had some singapore rice noodles. I bought yet another dress. We have photos but will put them up when we get to Australia! On our third day we went to the zoo during the day which was really really good, we got to see a komodo dragon, and lots of other interesting animals! I really wanted to see the manatees as they were my favourite but they were rebuilding their enclosure so we couldnt go in :( maybe there will be some in Brisbane. We also saw white rhinos and white tigers which are really rare, and an elephant show! On the night we went to the night safari where at first you go around a trail on a tram and you can see lions and tigers really close! We also saw a tres cute family of lupirs and the baby chased our tram when we left! they were gorgeous! We also went into a bat house which was pretty scary, we have filmed some of the night safari so you will be able to see it when we get home! There were also walking trails where you could see leopards up close, the walking trails were better than going around on the tram, but we would definitely recommend it! We also went to see a creatures of the night show which was very entertaining, we would recommend that too. There were some cute otters, hyenas (not so cute), owls, snakes, mongeese and lots of others! We went home after that and chilled in reception talking to the guys about Singapore politics, and then went to bed! Today we went on a river boat around singapore to see some sights, and explored the Quays which is the posh part of Singapore i think! There are many nice bars and restaurants in a beautiful setting with fountains anf flowers and lights etc. Now we are waiting for a flight to Melbourne Australia which is at 8pm, it was a short stop in Singapore but was nice! The weather has been sooo hot and humid, and there was a thunder storm lastnight which lasted about an hour a tthe night safari, which was actually really refreshing! it dried up straight away as it was so hot!Miss you all, love Sammi and Alex! p.s we will add the singapore photos when we get to Australia! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
