0545 hrs...The day starts with the early morning radio scheg for weather. Forecast is for strong winds all over the place.
0645 hrs We get underway...no rod found when we pulled up the anchor...poor Marty. We stop to pick up the cray pot on way and its our first catch in the pot...yep...three Gummy sharks! We head out to the Tasman Sea again and find an obstical course of craypots as the ocean was shallow in these parts. However with big swells and seas running on top its hard to see them...is it a bouy or is it a seal spy hopping? When we hit the bouys it felt like the prop had been thrown off...bang...shudder!
1000 hrs arive entrance to Preservation Inlet. We spent the remainder of the day fishing catching Blue Cod and many Sea Perch (Skarpies). The skipper (Owen) tried snorkling for abalone but all were too deep and bottom too flat...only got the one.
We end the day with a paua sushimi and smoked cod and vegies. Before retiring to bed we listen for the nightly weather scheg...not good news...weather for the remainder of the trip not promising. We discuss wether to make a run for Bluff at 0700 in morning.
Found some movies backud up on a USB stick so we sit back and watch a movie with a wine and beer.
