This is Saint Giles Cathedral, Scotland's answer to the Sistine Chapel in Rome. They didn't skimp on any of these buildings, they're absolutely beautiful.
Princes St was the first street to be built in the new part of Edinburgh & it's now under construction putting trams back. I'll have to come back now. Lol
They also have beautiful gated gardens throughout, that were only for the wealthy that lived in the city & because these buildings are occupied by business now no one is using them.
They've had a lot of famous people born here Sean Connery, the guy who invented chloroform & tested on his family, even the dog. The first Encyclopaedia Britannia was compiled here. I hope these tourist guides aren't feeding me you know what. I'm a sucker for a good story.
Conan Arthur Doyle wrote Sherlock Holms based on his old professor. Charles Darwin gave up medicine because he didn't like the sight of blood. Just like Doc Martin really.
