We stumbled on this boat museum & it was free, Yeah. It was all about how they transported their goods on the water back in the day. There were only narrow waterways so they built boats to suit, so even though they are narrow they are up to 48 ft long. There was also 4 different locks there taking them up to 20 ft higher, it's fascinating to see how they handled the contour of the land. Met some women there that were holidaying on one, they had their little Yorkie with his lifejacket on. She said it was easy to drive but they only had gone 10 mile in one day. Maybe a bit slow for Bob.
This place also had a hugh collection of steam engines & a full working blacksmiths shop with 5 furnaces in it.
Before engine power they used draft horses to walk along the bank & pull the boats along so also had to have stables. It was a very interesting stop.
After that we travelled along the Irish Sea for a good while, it looked very rough. Actually the only people we've seen on the water so far, was down near the Isle of Wight. There is always something different around every corner we travel & you couldn't get friendlier people.
The petrol ranges from £1.31 to £1.39 per ltr. But you go along way on a tank ful.
The roads are very good & so are the drivers. Everything moves smoothly & you don't see anyone getting angry.

Jules Doesn't sound a bit like Australia does it, good roads, good drivers, no road rage :) I love it when you find something for free. Sometimes we go out specifically to have a "free day" we did it in Wellington, New Zealand, and had the best day. I think moving that slow would not suit Bob, well not without valium anyhow :) Love to you both
