Queensland, baby!
We crossed the border from NSW to Queensland the other day!
After our surfing trip we moved on to a place Mt. Warning. There we stayed at a gorgeous camping place right next to the mountain! In the early morning we hiked up to the summit (4 hours)! It was a hard and steep hike, I only got halfway because of my surfing injury, but Tomppa struggled to the top! The same day we went to stay with Tomppas relatives at Varsity Lakes, Gold Coast! Superfriendly people! Just love those guys!
Yesterday we went driving on Mt. Tamborine and then along the Gold Coast, through Brisbane, up to the Sunshine Coast. Today we went to mingle with the kangaroos and crocodiles at Australia Zoo. Then we got to Peregian Beach, just before Noosa. Here we'll stay for one night and see where we will head next...
We are really enjoying the freedom of moving around in our van! Would really recommend it! You can come and go as you like - no schedule, no worries!
There has been cyclones and floods up in Cairns, where we will be dropping off our van in two weeks (meters of water doing damage to roads and houses!), but we hope it will all be gone once we get closer...! Yikes! ( Keeping our fingers crossed...)
P.S Now it was Tomppas turn to hurt himself! A blue jellyfish stung/burned him on his hand and now his whole arm is numb and sore! So, a word of advise, be really careful of jellyfish when swimming in Queensland! (Of course you have to be aware of the sharks and crocodiles too!)
