All of these three were very brief visits, our favourite by far was Charlotte! We started in richmond though, where we dumped the bags straight in the hotel, then the four of us (us plus Andy and Chris) went for a walk along the 'famous' monument avenue. Chris and Andy being keen historians told harry and I all about the American civil war and the significance these monuments had. Shortly after it started raining so we popped into a diner to grab a drink! Next to view were the buildings in the centre of richmond, including the Virginia state Capitol building, the new and old city halls. As it was a Sunday very few places were open for dinner so we found a sports bar and then walked back to the hotel so we could all spend some time planning the next step.
The breakfast was amazing with everything you could imagine, including waffles you could make yourself AND it was buffet!! after breakfast the boys left, so we said our goodbyes then harry and I continued planning. Later on we got a bus to the Megabus stop with plenty of time spare to grab a traditional American sandwich each from a local diner. On the bus and next stop... Charlotte!
When we arrived in Charlotte we were pleasantly surprised with how clean and modern the city was. As we arrived quite late we decided to get cracking onto the hotel. We got a tram-type train and got off in a less modern area. Unfortunately this was to be the worst nights sleep so far, we checked into an outdated motel where you could hear every conversation all night, needless to say we were up early and out of there ASAP! Didn't have much time to look around charlotte as we wanted to get going to atlanta and had quite a bit of booking to do! The NASCAR building was amazing and we listened to a sweet old guy singing outside the Wells Fargo museum. Time to get on the next bus to atlanta!
After a sleepless night in charlotte we checked into a rather extravagant hotel in Atlanta! Rooftop pool and gym with panoramic views, not to mention a room with a sitting room and kitchen attached! The georgian terrace hotel was a very historic and famous building in atlanta so it was a real treat to be staying there. Due to the bad reputation of atlanta we decided just to wonder slightly up the street we were staying on and took photos next to the famous FOX Theatre. We made full use of the gym and pool before leaving to go to Savannah to see Harry's friend Danny.
